Adventure Travellers Club Charity Trip Adventure Travellers Club are big supporters of the local community. We believe in giving back something to ensure a promising future for the children of our country. We support various projects in and around Kathmandu, but by running our own charity trip we have a special project to fund in mind. The beautiful children at Bhairavi Primary School in Dhading District.
Bhairavi Primary school in Dhading District is a small school which has been established in the area to give the local children a chance to receive an education. Dhading is a remote district that is not easily reached by roads. In this area the people are farmers and some of them are very poor. The aim of the school is to be able to provide an education to the children of these farming families at no cost to them. In most cases families simply cannot afford to pay to send their children to school, so from a very young age they end up working on the farm doing very hard and strenuous work. Without receiving a basic education there is not much hope for the future of such children.
The community has set up the school with little help from the government. The government has provided one teacher only and until recently we had another teacher funded by an overseas source who has since withdrawn their funding, now the school has only one teacher again. In the beginning the school was very humble with only a few students, now days it has grown to accommodate nearly 70 students. One teacher can not effectively teach this many students on a day to day basis. Also the school has five small rooms, but there are not enough benches and tables, texts books and teaching equipment to run the classes properly. The school is run with three classes and as the teacher can only be in one room at a time, the rest of the children must sit around and wait for their instruction.
Our aim for running this trip is to raise enough money to fund another teacher for one year. Hopefully we can run our trips regularly to keep the teacher at the school permanently and hopefully extend to a third teacher and also improve the school grounds and building. The cost for the salary of a teacher for a year is about $us1000. Adventure Travellers Club is dedicated to this project, we want to be able to support the school, and eventually other schools like this for the future of the children of our country. We strongly believe that the children of today are our leaders of tomorrow. By booking a charity tour with us, you are generating funds for the school. We have made this special program to take in the highlights of Nepal over a 15 day program and finish with a visit to Dhading District so you can see for yourself how the money is being spent. From this trip we donate 30% of the profit to the school.
This trip is our personal suggested tour program, if you would like to support our project but do not like this itinerary or would like to include some other activities, then we can make an alternative for you, just contact us with your desires, we will make the program and price for you. The more people you bring the cheaper the tour will be.
