This trek begins with a stunning mountain flight over the Himalayas and into Lhasa. You spend three days in Lhasa taking in the amazing sights and allowing your body to acclimatize to the altitude. From Lhasa you take the scenic drive with sightseeing along the way to Khartag from where you commence the challenging but rewarding trek. The trek gives you breathtaking views of the surrounding area and allows you to take in the vibrant and ancient culture of the Tibetan people. During this camping trek you will fully supported by experienced guides and a herd of yak porters. This is one of the most remote and amazing treks in Tibet.

Suggested Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Lhasa Gonggar Airport
Day 02/03: Guided sightseeing around Lhasa
Day 04: Free day in Lhasa or Optional excursion to Tsurphu or Gandanb Monasteries.
Day 05: Drive to Gyantse via Yamadrok Lake and overnight in Utse Hotel.
Day 06: After sightseeing, drive to Sigatse and visit Tashilumpo Monastery. 
Day 07: Drive to Shegar
Day 08: Drive to Khartaj village. Prepare yaks and camp. Khartag is a well-populated valley with a good harvest of barley. At an elevation of 3750 meters, it has an almost ideal climate. The air is always warm but never hot. The sun shines brightly and it never rains too heavily.
Day 09: Trek from Khartag to Yueba, about 4-5 hours. Yuebaa sits on a small rise above the river. This is a picturesque valley with many villages and good campsites.
Day 10: Yueba to base of Langma La
Day 11: Base of Langma La to cave. This is a difficult day. It crosses the steep, three-tiered Langrna La Pass (5350 meters). From here we can view Mr. Everest, Chomo Lunze and Makalu.
Day 12: Langma Cave to Pethang
Day 13: To Pethang Ringrno-Kashung Face Base Camp
Day 14: Return to Pethang
Day 15: Pethang to Sharlung. It takes 5 hours. Situated next to an emerald lake, the hillsides abound to its
Giant rhubarb plants during the summer months.
Day 16: Sharlunj to Sharo. Camp at the foot of Shola Pass. The peaks off Makalu are directly opposite.
Day 17: Sharo to Yueba. It takes about 6 hrs, crossing the Shola Pass (5030 meters) and back to Yueba.
Day 18: Yueba to Khartag and drive to Everest Base Camp.
Day 19: Day hike around the Base Camp.
Day 20: Drive to Nyalarri/Zhangmu. Overnight in hotel/guest house.
Day 21: Departure for Kathmandu.
