Lo-Manthang is an ancient Himalayan Kingdom which lies in the northern central part of Nepal and at the top of the Kaligandaki River, in the upper Mustang Region. Upper Mustang consists of two distinct regions: the southern part and the northern where the languages, culture and traditions are alike to those of the Tibetan people. This area is consider as one of the most interesting and picturesque places in Nepal. The whole area has an isolated and mystical feel to it, enchanting and inspiring visitors to this region.
The trek to Lo- Manthang is through high altitude desert country climbing in and out of the huge sided valley of the Kali Gandaki. In places the gorge which the Kali Gandaki River runs through is the deepest in the world. This region is full of some of Nepal’s oldest Buddhist Monasteries, ancient and isolated villages with quaint white washed houses. Trekking Itinerary : | Day 01: | After your arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will transfer you to your hotel in the heart of Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel (B) | | Day 02: | Full Day Kathmandu sight seeing Tour: You will visit many Buddhist and Hindu temples which reflect the local culture and tradition of Nepalese society including the World Heritage sites such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhu Stupa (Monkey Temple), Bouddhanath, Pathupatinath Temple and Patan Darbar Square. Overnight at Kathmandu (B) | | Day 03: | Fly to Jomsom from Kathmandu. O/N at Jomsom | | Day 04: | Jomsom to Kagbeni | | Day 05: | Kagbeni to Chele (3100m) | | Day 06: | Chele to Geling (3570m) | | Day 07: | Geling to Charang (3560m) | | Day 08: | Charang to Lo Manthang (3840m) | | Day 09: | In Lo Mathang | | Day 10: | Trip around Lo Manthang | | Day 11: | Lo Manthang to Drakmar | | Day 12: | Drakmar to Shyangmochen | | Day 13: | Shyangmochen to Chhuksang | | Day 14: | Trek back to Kagbeni from Chhuksang.
